Making Memories
Handmade Crochet Gifts
Crochet for me is a a type pf therapy. After having to give up work & become my youngest sons full time carer I needed something to keep my mind active & needed a go to to help me relax. Many years ago when I was a child, a friend of my Mothers originally showed me how to crochet & I tried to help her make a blanket. I found it really fun learning a new skill but lost my confidence when doing it alone so I gave up.
A lot of time passed and as with a lot a people, I found time again during lockdown to find a hobby and I decided to give crocheting another go. Picking up my hook for the first time in almost 40 years I was a little rusty to say the least, but I persevered & re-taught myself. Chains & stitches soon became patterns I could see & I could soon visualise my makes. The more I made the more I fell in love.
For me not only is crochet my hobby, it’s my go to when things become tough, it my unwinding mechanism as well as my passion.
